Clock - Unsigned French domed mantle clock, circa 1900, gorge gilded brass case with four porcelain panels and porcelain dome top, exquisite details including reeded Corinthian columns with matching turned finials on the top plate and dome, ornate bun feet, dome with painting depicting cherubs sits atop a turned circular brass base, enamel panels possibly depicting Greek figures are framed with a cast filigree border, front panel depicts a woman with two cherubs and is signed "Hemer," right panel depicts a woman with butterfly wings and antennae holding a herald's rod and smelling a flower and is likely the Greek goddess Iris, messenger of the gods and goddess of the rainbow, rear panel depicts a woman holding a torch in one hand and a sheaf of flowers in the other and is likely the Greek goddess Demeter, left panel depicts a woman with antennae sitting on a flower playing a mandolin and is likely a Greek muse, measures 12.5"h (to top of upright handle) x 5"w x 5"d, white enamel dial with winding hole at 6, SW and set by manually moving hands, single barrel anchor escapement with bob pendulum, gilt mvt, s#77264. CONDITION: Mvt: Ticks weakly, occasionally stops, overhaul recommended, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some haziness and fine scratches to plates and pendulum, some glue to pendulum below weight, small pin found loose inside and is now taped to inner door; dial is slightly loose as it is missing one of its screws and has some chips and flakes around KW hole and at screw holes, scattered hls; excellent hands; case shows little wear, short line of gouges to right side of rear panel door, no dents or dings, areas of finish loss throughout, both front and right rear column are slightly loose; enameled panels show hardly any wear with only very light surface scratches, good glass crystal sits loose in bezel.
